Jason Reynolds' book becomes a stage play, exploring unique life perspectives.
This narrative was set to commence like all great tales, featuring a school bus descending from the sky. Yet, this spectacle went unnoticed as everyone was engrossed in their own affairs. Jason Reynolds, a native of the Washington, D.C. area and a New York Times best-selling author, crafts ten stories, one for each city block, delving into the aftermath of the school day.
Ten distinct perspectives are skillfully interwoven, offering a humorous and deeply moving exploration of the unexpected turns we encounter on our journey home and in life. Reynolds' acclaimed book, including accolades such as the Carnegie Medal, Coretta Scott King Author Honor Book, National Book Award for Young People’s Literature finalist, and more, now takes the stage in an eagerly anticipated world premiere. This production, a collaboration with Theater Alliance, features an adaptation by El Chelito and Raymond O. Caldwell, with Caldwell directing.
