Set in New York City during 1943, Sally Middleton has decided to abandon love and concentrate solely on her acting career. However, her best friend and fellow actor, Olive Lashbrooke, has different intentions. When Olive learns that a past lover is back in town, Sally ends up comforting Olive’s current boyfriend, Sergeant Bill Page. As they seek shelter from the rain in Sally’s apartment with only cocktails for company, unexpected connections unfold between two people who have been hurt by love.
