A powerful performance of the last words of women accused of political crimes in Russian courts.
"The Last Word" is a powerful multimedia performance featuring the final statements of women accused of political crimes in Russia. Performed by acclaimed actor Alisa Khazanova ("The Woman in Black") and directed by award-winning Maxim Didenko ("The White Factory"), the show highlights some of the last expressions of free speech in contemporary Russia. It includes statements from notable figures like Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova of "Pussy Riot," Alla Gutnikova, Sasha Skochilenko, and Zarifa Sautieva, emphasizing their courage and providing a stark portrayal of Russia's current regime. This performance reunites the creative team from the previous Offie Award-winning production of "The White Factory," consisting of renowned Russian artists who fled after Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
