A UN relief worker faces a moral dilemma with a child displaced by war.
In 1945 Germany, Thomas, a child abducted by the Nazis from Eastern Europe during World War II, is placed under the care of Ruth, a UN relief worker. She must decide whether to reunite him with his biological parents or leave him with the family he's known. Decades later, in 1990 London, Thomas confronts Ruth, leading them to re-examine the choices made and the fluid nature of memory and morality.
