Tara Theatre's historical play about living through the last days of the British Raj.
In 1947, the Indian subcontinent was split into India and Pakistan - signaling the displacement of millions of people, a wave of violence, and the shaping of modern Britain.
Inspired by the personal testimonies of the people who lived through the last days of the British Raj, 'SILENCE' explores the stories of that time that remain shrouded in silence.
Commissioned to mark the 75th anniversary, 'SILENCE' is adapted from Kavita Puri’s acclaimed book 'Partition Voices: Untold British Stories' and was originally co-produced with the Donmar Warehouse.
