About the Show

Poet Laureate Simon Armitage's new adaptation of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

In a bid to give their children a safer life in the midst of their war-torn village, a woodcutting dad and a breadmaking mum decide to leave their two children in the woods. Left to fend for themselves, Hansel and Gretel’s plans to find their way home get disrupted when they discover a trail of treats that are too good to resist…

Filled with music, magic, and songs, this production marks the premiere of Simon Armitage’s adaptation of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale.
