Lovely is really the word that comes to mind for the whole production. Jenna Russell heads up a strong cast of performers as Mrs Harris, the eponymous war widow who scrimps and saves for two and a half years to go to Paris to buy a Christian Dior dress. It is always satisfying to see a well-cast production, and here the use of double-casting the ensemble as Mrs. Harris's clients in London (Act 1) and acquaintances in Paris (Act 2) draws out parallels alluded to in the text and helps to fill out characters who could easily have been thin sketches. Instead, we come to care deeply about everyone we meet, which is a testament to the double-cast.
