Single mother, Mrs. Johnstone, struggles to raise her twin boys - Mickey & Edward - and decides to give Edward to the Lyons', a wealthy family whom Mrs. Johnstone works for. The boys meet by chance at the age of seven, and immediately become best friends. Their bond continues to grow; however, as they get older, the huge difference in their upbringings pulls them apart.
