This music-theater production illuminates the myths and contradictions that have surrounded her for over 2000 years, utilizing ancient texts, artworks, and contemporary writings. At its core is the radical message from her hidden “Gospel of Mary Magdalene.” Created by Sylvia Milo and Nathan Davis, the performance portrays Mary Magdalene through seven different manifestations, with Milo taking on these roles as Davis provides a live musical score with a blend of ancient and modern instruments. The show features Monica Duncan's video projections and choreography by Janice Orlandi, Natalie Lomonte, and Joanna Kotze, combining elements of theater and ritual to offer a transformative experience that challenges historical inaccuracies and seeks genuine transcendence.
