A previously enslaved woman attempts to reunite with her family after the end of the US Civil War.
In 1859 Prince George's County, MD, Hannah – a relatively content enslaved woman, has her world turned upside down when her master dies and she, for the first time, is forced apart from her family, new husband, and child. But, just as she starts to lose all hope to ever see her family again, the seceded South falls to the Union, the enslaved are freed thanks to the 13th Amendment, and Hannah has the opportunity to put her family back together...if she can find them.
